This year we are hearing of more and more people making their Christmas presenets, from chocolates and chutneys to knitted scarves and gloves, there are lots of beautiful things to make for that extra special present. One of our favourite homemade presents are handmade chocolate truffles. They are so easy to make and taste so much better than shop bought – even if you aren’t trying to save money they really do just tast better. And what better way to present these than in our beautiful truffle boxes which come in a range of single, two, four and eight truffle sizes. There is a whole rainbow of colours to choose from. The red and burgundy are particularly Christmasy.

With Christmas coming up just around the corner we thought it an appropriate time to do a short series on Christmas wedding favours. One of our most popular Winter wedding favours is this cute snowman series that consists of a beautiful wedding candle favour and a fabulous snowman placecard holder. These make gorgeous table decorations but will also add to your guests Christmas decorations for them to take home. Scatter a crystal table sprinklers over the tables to finish the Festive scene. These favours are great for any Festive celebration, not just weddings. How about using them for your next house party or for a special anniversary celebration? They also make great stocking fillers!
Do let us know what you will be using them for this year.

Just a quick post today to tell you about a fantastic new product that has recently been added to the site. The Digital Photo CD Solution has been designed to solve the age old problem of having disposable cameras at weddings that are either unused or full of rubbish photos. These CDs have a beautifully designed cover sleeve with instructions on one side to take pictures on guests digital cameras and then copy them to the enclosed CD. The other side has an address label with stamp affixed for guests to easily send the CD to you with the best of your wedding pictures. Such a great idea for adding to your wedding day photos. As usual, do let us know what you think.

With all our talk of how popular our wedding truffle boxes are, we thought we would share our favourite chocolate truffle recipe to go in them. We have used this recipe from www.bbcgoodfood.com time and time again. So, here goes with our first blog recipe. Have a try and let us know what you think! They make perfect and cost effective wedding favours.
50g Unsalted Butter
280g dark chocolate
284ml pot of double cream
1.Chop the chocolate and tip into a large bowl. Put the cream and butter into a saucepan and heat gently until the butter melts and the cream reaches simmering point. Remove from heat, then pour over the chocolate. Stir the chocolate and cream together until you have a smooth mixture. Add any flavourings to the truffle mix at this stage (divide the mixture between bowls and mix in liqueurs or other flavourings, a tsp at a time, to taste. Try bourbon, Grand Marnier, coconut rum or the zest and juice of an orange), or leave plain. Cool and chill for at least 4 hrs.
2.To shape the truffles, dip a melon baller in hot water and scoop up balls of the mixture, then drop the truffles onto greaseproof paper. Or lightly coat your hands in flavourless oil (such as sunflower) and roll the truffles between your palms. You could also use a piping bag to pipe rounds onto greaseproof paper.
3.Coat your truffles immediately after shaping. Tip toppings into a bowl and gently roll the truffles until evenly coated, then chill on greaseproof paper. Try: crushed, shelled pistachio nuts; lightly toasted desiccated coconut; or roll a truffle flavoured with orange zest and juice in cocoa powder. To coat in chocolate, line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Melt 100g milk, dark or white chocolate for 10 truffles. Allow chocolate to cool slightly. With a fork, pick up one truffle at a time and hold over the bowl of melted chocolate. Spoon the chocolate over the truffle until well-coated. Place on the baking tray, then chill.
4.Store in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Defrost in the fridge overnight. To give as presents, place 8-10 truffles in individual foil or paper cases inside small, lined boxes tied with ribbon. Keep in the fridge until you’re ready to give them.
