We have recently read in the news that McDonalds are offering their services for weddings in Hong Kong. They are offering a banquet of their favourite burgers and nuggets for those brides who just can’t get enough fast food. The crowning glory is their wedding cake offering of a pile of their famous apple pies. This really made us chuckle.
So, this got us thinking of finding out what other unusual catering people were planning for their wedding. Are you having food to fit a theme or a particular season. Or are you going for the less traditional barbeque or hog roast. It is becoming more and more popular to serve afternoon tea at a wedding reception in vintage cups and cake stands. To fit in with this theme we have our ever popular cupcake candles to adorn your tables and add that extra special touch to your afternoon tea.
Do let us know of any quirky catering arrangements that you are planning and the most unusual will get a mention on the blog.

Beautiful wedding table decorations can really add the extra wow factor to your wedding reception. Here are some top tips to decorate your wedding tables.
Fabulous wedding table decorations don’t have to cost a fortune. Buying a bag of wedding confetti looks great scattered over the tables or, paper rose petals are as effective and won’t break your budget.
Using your wedding favours as part of your table decorations is a great way to save some space on your tables. Placing them on a tiered cake stand will look beautiful.
There are some beautiful table cloths on the market these days so don’t just stick with white. If you choose a coloured or patterned cloth you can create the wow factor without adding any other table decorations. There are many sites where you can hire table cloths so you can be really adventurous in your choice.
Flowers arrangements make wonderful table centrepieces. But, you don’t have to stick to flowers to have a stunning centrepiece. Cookie bouquets are becoming fashionable and make a fantastic addition to your wedding table decorations. They are also edible so won’t go to waste! An arrangement of tall candles can also make wonderful table centrepieces. Candles can also double as wedding table decorations and wedding gifts for your bridal party.
Crackers don’t have to be just for Christmas. Crackers can be bought in a huge array of colours and patterns and make a beautiful addition to your wedding tables. Remember that not all the people on your wedding tables will know each other and crackers are a great way to get people talking.
Placecard holders also make great wedding table decorations. They can be sourced in all sorts of shapes and colours to match your wedding theme. Guests can also take them home to use as photo holders to help remember your big day.
With a bit of imagination you can easily create wonderful wedding table decorations whatever your budget.

We are often being asked for ideas for wedding table decorations that are slightly more unusual but cost effective.
One of the most effective and inexpensive wedding table decoration is using co-ordinating paper flower petals. There are some beautiful colours available and when they are co-ordinated with your colour scheme they look really effective. They also look great placed in a vase and used as a table centrepiece.
Placecard holders are a great way of combining table decorations, placecards and favours in one! If you hunt around on the internet there are lots of unusual placecard holders to be found at a reasonable price. Make sure that your guests know that they can take them away with them to hold notes or photographs. Guests really appreciate a useful favour to take away with them.
Don’t just leave crackers for Christmas. Crackers make people smile at anytime of year and look stunning as part of your table settings. These days they don’t just come in Christmasy themes and colours, you can pick up modern, colourful designs that suit anytime of year.
Scatter foil wrapped chocolates around the table for guests to help themselves to. Foil wrapped heart shaped chocolates come in a huge array of colours. If you co-ordinate them with your colour scheme they will look fabulous as part of your decorations. And if you decide to use these as your favours you will save a considerable amount.
I will keep thinking of more ideas for wedding table decorations and publish them in the next few weeks.
